FAQ's

Welcome to our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page, where we share everything you need to know about our handmade soaps and body care products. From curing and care tips to ingredient safety and allergen information, we’ve got you covered. At Old Weathered Barn Soap Co., we believe in transparency and ensuring your experience with our products is as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Browse through the details below to learn more about how to get the best from our artisan creations.

CURE TIME
Cold process soap needs to age or “cure” before it is ready to use. Like firewood, as the soap cures, most of the water used in the recipe evaporates. Cured soap is harder, milder, and more “finished.”

SOAP FACTS
Each bar is hand-cut, wrapped, and labeled with the name and weight of the soap. Handmade artisan soaps are unique and beautiful in their own right—no two bars are alike. Slight imperfections and variations are expected.

SOAP CARE
Your soap needs plenty of air between uses to ensure a long-lasting bar. It is recommended that you store your soap in a well-drained soap dish.

SOAP & BODY CARE PRODUCT SAFETY
Our products are for external use only. Avoid eye contact and understand each product and ingredient before use. Contact your healthcare professional prior to using unfamiliar products, and discontinue use immediately if irritation occurs. A complete ingredient list can be found under each product for your safety. Old Weathered Barn is not responsible for injuries related to the use of our products.

ALLERGEN WARNING
For your safety, we clean and disinfect our workstations after each product is processed. However, due to the variety of ingredients used, it is highly likely that an ingredient could come in contact with another. For instance, if you are allergic to coconut, but the product you are interested in is made with cocoa butter, it is highly likely that the cocoa butter may have been processed in the same work area where coconut oil products were processed.
